Schedule downloads of builds

Last updated on

Overview

When you have lots of users in your organization trying to download a build at the same time, network bandwidth issues can block people's work. To help with this, we implemented scheduled downloads on the AccelByte Development Toolkit (ADT) Web. You can set a custom time for when you want to trigger scheduled downloads of builds, and in addition, we also added a random delay to the auto-update for every user.

Scheduled download also works with the local cache. You can set the first machine to download the build and make it available in the local cache server, where other users can download it.

To use a scheduled download, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to ADT Web.

  2. Go to the Overview page.

  3. Click the ellipsis on the build channel.

  4. Click the AutoUpdate option.

  5. The Auto Update option is set to Download the build right away by default.

  6. Click the Download the new build daily at radio button to enable the scheduled download, then choose the hour and minute for the download, and AM or PM.

info
  • You can input the hour by choosing the dropdown option (00 - 11), and the minute by scrolling up/down using the arrow to choose a new value, or select the current hours or minutes' value, then input the new value with your number pad.
  • If the new build is available before the scheduled time, the system downloads it at the scheduled time + delay. If the new build is available after the scheduled time, the system downloads it the next day + delay at the same time.
  • The delay is 0 - 10 minutes.
